Total E&P Myanmar and the Yadana partners extend support to the Myanmar health community in face of the current COVID-19 crisis.
At the national level, Total E&P Myanmar and the Yadana Consortium have decided to support the Myanmar Red Cross Society in purchasing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE: Masks, Gloves, Hand Gels, Awareness Pamphlets etc.) to protect the healthcare personnel and in conducting COVID-19 awareness campaigns to prevent the spread of the disease through its network of 330 branches with 44,000 active volunteers across the nation.
In the Tanintharyi region, Total E&P Myanmar is focusing its support on the villages of the gas pipeline area, providing PPE to the health community through Village Administration, Village Communication Committees and Hospitals at Kaleinaung, Yebyu and Kanbauk and will continue assessing the incoming support requests giving priority to the 33 project villages along the pipeline area.
Romaric Roignan, General Manager of Total E&P Myanmar commented: “With this support at national and local level in Tanintharyi, our teams demonstrate their commitment to stand with the Myanmar people in this challenging period. Beyond this action, we remain committed to take all necessary precautions to protect our staff and contractors who are working on operations sites to ensure the continuity of gas supply from the Yadana gas field to our customers, in particular the Yangon region”.
